A festival of beer

It's October, people like drinking...why not celebrate the Oktoberfest? There's no breweries in Doha, and drinking isn't exactly encouraged here, but why would we let that stop us?

The night was put on by the Ramada Hotel. There wasn't much to it to be honest, but sometimes simplicity is the key to a successful night. There was a couple of German guest ales, a German band and a whole heap of streamers. What more do you need?

At first the band started off on stage...

...but quickly got bored of that...

Unfortunately I didn't have any lederhosen with me, but I entered into the spirit of things by wearing a tasty pretzel round my neck:

This served two purposes, as not only did it make a very attractive necklace, but it also came in very useful when I got a little peckish on the way home.

Comments:
Well worth remembering its always Beer:30 somewere in the world :)

Cannot help noticing your class is looking far too empty in that last pic Stef, Your friends should have kept you well supplied with flagons of ale during the night.

Can you not tell from the photo that I have already had more than enough!?

Ahhhh so the glazed vacant look while wearing a pretzel necklace isn’t your normal state? J/k

If you were able to remember most of that night then you hadn’t had enough grog, I'm sure on your next visit back to Blighty you will more than make up for it by enjoying some proper Beer/ale, rather than the girly foreign stuff you’re getting served there :)

Oooooooo, look at you! "Girlie foreign stuff"? That's fighting talk...

feisty lass a'int ya..... I must make a mentle note "don't get on the wrong side of Steff"

I just mean that in the Uk we know how to brew proper falling down water :) with the likes of Frusty Ferret,Old Peculier & Tanglefoot.
