Melting...

It's getting to about 45 Celsius each day now, which is about 113 in old money.
Sounds horrible doesn't it?
But it's not humid yet and in fact the evenings are really nice. Reclining in my hammock with a glass of wine, it's not a bad life...until I either fall out my hammock or spill the wine all over my self, obviously.

However, in the sunshine, 45C is officially too hot for me...and now I have proof that it's too hot for plastic too.
My little sister kindly bought me a rain gauge for my birthday (which is in February incase you want to start saving up), and look at the state of it:

It's melted! No wonder the plants in the backyard are suffering - even plastic flowers wilt here. I thought it was my shocking gardening.

Fingers crossed there's no more rain until my next birthday, or I may have to make my own. I have an old fairy liquid bottle and some double sided sticky tape, now all I need to find is the correct episode of Blue Peter...

Comments:
Well that serves me right...Three days after writing this, the wind changed and it got humid.
It's like a sauna.
By September I'm going to be a sweaty shadow of my former self.

You've killed the rain measurer! I didn't realise it was plastic, evidently the company never thought that someone who wanted a rain gauge would live in the middle east ...
